Before planning your trip

Outside the itinerary: connection to the work unconfirmed: Sengokuhara — Shinji's school.

Context only; not a navigable stop: Futagoyama — the Operation Yashima shot — No verified public viewpoint for the scene is available. The mountain is mentioned for context; do not navigate to it as a stop.

The budget is an estimate, not a booking offer. Lodging depends on dates and occupancy; meals and extras are allowances. Optional detours are not separately budgeted.

Two days with a return plan

Day 1 · travel from Shinjuku to Hakone-Yumoto on your chosen service. The base budget uses ordinary trains; Romancecar is optional with a reserved seat and supplement. Visit the station area and continue to your lodging. Onsen access depends on the establishment.

Day 2 · have breakfast and leave luggage before taking Route L to Sengoku. Visit Kintoki and return to the stop, then continue to Togendai. Allow the morning for connections, walking and breaks. Climbing Mt Kintoki is not included.

At Togendai, confirm the cruise and the return from Moto-Hakone before boarding. The original lake pin is geographic context; navigate to the port, not the water. At Moto-Hakone, use the operator’s stop plan: Hakone-Yumoto buses use platform 1 or 2 depending on service. Check destination, timetable and final connection on the official page.

Plan B · if the cruise is cancelled or connections are tight, skip Moto-Hakone and return from Togendai to Hakone-Yumoto by bus, using operator platform 1. If buses are also disrupted, ask staff before continuing. Do not rely on the final service or add Owakudani without replanning the return.
