Anime in Ishikawa

The real Nanao high school that serves as the model for Kuyō High, which Ganta and Isaki attend. In the story, its abandoned rooftop observatory is where they meet and revive the astronomy club. It is a working school, not visitable inside.

Nanao Station, the town's transport hub, appears as the backdrop for the protagonists' outings and nocturnal walks.

A park on a low hill in central Nanao, on the old ruins of the castle built by Maeda Toshiie. With its views and cherry trees, it is one of the town's spots the protagonists visit.

The ruins of a great mountain castle southeast of the city, with stone walls among the forest and a lookout spanning Nanao Bay. A quiet height that fits the series' nocturnal, contemplative tone.

A Jōmon-period archaeological site in the town of Noto, with its huge reconstructed wooden poles set in a circle. It is the setting of a photography outing in the series, on the peninsula's northern coast.

The great wooden Tsuzumi Gate, shaped like a traditional drum, at the east entrance of Kanazawa Station. Ishikawa's capital appears in the series' outings, an hour by train from Nanao.

The small mountain spa town of Yuwaku, on the outskirts of Kanazawa, is the model for the Yunosagi onsen where the Kissuiso inn stands. The Shirasagi-no-Yu public bath is the heart of the town and the starting point of the pilgrimage.

The fictional 'Bonbori' festival celebrated in the series became a real one: since 2011, every October P.A. Works and the town actually hold it at this shrine, a few minutes' walk from the bath. (Approximate coordinate by address.)

The unstaffed Noto Railway Nanao Line station facing Nanao Bay is the model for Yunosagi Station. A 'Yunosagi' nameplate was put up next to the real one for fans.
