Captain Tsubasa at street level

A station, small parks and familiar characters among everyday homes. The connection here is the author and tributes to his work. Walk from Yotsugi to Tateishi without looking for a fictional stadium around every corner.

The walk

8 stops · 7 statues

Allow a morning or afternoon, as a planning suggestion rather than a measured duration. From Yotsugi visit Ishizaki, Hyūga and Tsubasa, then Roberto and Sanae. Continue to Misaki in Shibue Park and finish with Wakabayashi in Tateishi. For a shorter walk, finish after Sanae and return to Yotsugi.

1Yotsugi Station — The Captain Tsubasa StationTribute · exterior visitContext and visit

Start outside the ticket gates, beneath football-shaped lamps. Some decorations are in paid areas; enter only with an appropriate ticket. Keep passenger routes clear.

2Bronze Statue of Ryō Ishizaki (Bruce Harper)Tribute · exterior visitContext and visit

Meet Ishizaki at the first statue stop. View it from the pavement: this is a tribute to the character, not a real match location from the story.

3Bronze Statue of Kojirō Hyūga (Mark Lenders)Tribute · exterior visitContext and visit

Hyūga awaits in Yotsugi Park. This is also a children’s play space: share it considerately and frame the statue without other visitors.

4Life-sized Statue of Tsubasa Ōzora (Oliver Atom)Tribute · exterior visitContext and visit

The lead character’s stop: Tsubasa in Yotsugi Tsubasa Park. Leave room around the statue in your photo to include the everyday neighbourhood setting.

5Bronze Statue of Roberto HongoTribute · exterior visitContext and visit

This tribute brings Roberto Hongo and Tsubasa together. Leave the park and return to the neighbourhood streets to find them. No shopping is needed to follow the walk.

6Bronze Statue of Sanae NakazawaTribute · exterior visitContext and visit

Sanae closes the first Yotsugi section. Decide here whether to return to the station or continue towards Tateishi. The food budget is an allowance, not a booking at a specific café.

7Life-sized Statue of Tarō Misaki (Tom Becker)Tribute · exterior visitContext and visit

Continue to Shibue Park for Misaki. The city identifies the statue in the lawn area. Follow open paths and respect the park’s everyday use.

8Bronze Statue of Genzō Wakabayashi (Benji Price)Tribute · exterior visitContext and visit

Finish with Wakabayashi at Tateishi Michihiroba. Follow local signs towards Keisei-Tateishi station for your return. This selection does not attempt to cover every statue in the district.
